One of the tats that I have is of Marvin the Martian - it's on my right shoulder. Basically it's only the outline now. It used to be fully filled in, but during the "healing stage", I forgot to put the ointment on one night and the scab with the filled in part came off. I want to get it covered up but I am wondering how big of a deal will it be with having just the outline. Those with tattoos, how easy do you think it would be to cover it up with a new tat since it's basically just an outline now? Do you think I am stuck with the tatoo and should get it redone? Or do you think it could easily be covered up with something else? I dont like MTM anymore - I was into him back when I was in early 20s and the tattoo was a spur of the momment thing after drinking all night - that was a lesson learned. An idea for a coverup is a cherry blossom, but I dont know what colors to put with it or if pink and white would show up well on skin or not.

Re: S/O Tattoos (a little gross)
This. And while cherry blossoms are cute, they probably won't cover a previous tattoo. Pink and white can be dandy on skin, but you need to use a darker ink to cover the outline. I agree that you should go to a good artist, tell him what you want, any ideas you have, and they'll draw something up that will be so much better.
I think a cherry blossom would be lovely, but it would be hard to cover it up, because those colors would most likely be lighter than the outline.
What I did is went in and asked him what he could do. He asked me what I liked and gave me some suggestions. He then told me that if I came up with an idea to come back and he would trace my tattoo and sketch out a design.
This time, take care of it.
