Rental Car

Ok ladies - so we are going to Fort Lauderdale for a week in March and need to rent a car - who have you used in the past and who have you found has the cleanest cars, and best rates?  Any direction, guidance would be great!   TIA

Re: Rental Car

  • I usually go on orbitz.com and go with cheapest that comes up. Never had a car that wasn't clean.

  • I have used Budget in the past and always had a clean car.   I also prefer the car rentals that are located in the airport so I don't have to take a shuttle with my luggage to the car rental places offsite.

  • it'll depend on who you can get discounts from and who has coupon codes for.  do you have BJ's or Costco memberships? check your entertainment book too.  we rented from Ft Lauderdale but it was company arranged and i can't remember the company. but it was very easy, the shuttle service was fast and easy to navigate, even with 2 kids, 2 carseats, and a lot of luggage.
  • I always priceline. You can see there a list of which places they choose from (all names you know). I normally go to those sites and price out cars and them make a bid for at least $10 less per day.

I've never done it in FL but I'm yet to pay more than $20 a day for a mid-size.
