Cats peeing on blanket

I need help...

I have two cats and randomly one day one of them peed on my bed! I washed all the sheets and blankets. (didnt get on the mattress) and then a while later one of the cats peed on the bed again when we were sleeping.  So once again washed all the blankets. Then we started sleeping with the door shut and we have the door shut all the time.

Today I was getting ready for work and was in the bedroom and went into the bathroom for a minute and come back into the bedroom and one of them peed on the bed again!  So once again im washing my blankets.

Do you think they are still peeing on it because of the scent is still on it? Any advice on what i should use to wash it?

Thanks!

  • Soak in an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle.

Have you had the cats to the vet?  There could be something medically wrong, like a UTI or bladder crystals.  Our cat who gets crystals pees inappropriately out of discomfort, but it's only in specific places.  That may be what your cat(s) is(are) doing.

    This exactly.

The vet will run a uranalysis which will help rule out both of those problems.

Ditto. One of our cats had a UTI and her only symptom was peeing outside of the litter box. If it is behavioral, there are tons of tips in the FAQs.

  • Ditto PPs. Start with a vet check.

Has anything changed at your house recently? Move the litterbox, new kind of litter, mobile baby, working more hours, etc.? Stress might be behind this.
