it sure doesn't feel like friday, but i'm sure glad it is!! i've only worked M, W, F this week, partly because of my cold, partly because of the snow. i'm still not feeling 100%, but i couldn't take another day off.....i'm taking monday off for chinese new year!!
i had a dream last night that it rained so much overnight that everything melted away pretty much instantly. there wasn't a trace of snow left, and everyone was so surprised how quickly it all went away........ no such luck.. booo.

Good morning!
I did have Monday off as a holiday, but after the way the week has gone that feels like forever ago and today definitely feels like Friday!!
There's still snow on the ground at our house, but it seems like it's warming up enough that we'll just have a big slushy mess by the end of the day. We're supposed to have some friends over for a fun little dinner party tonight, so I'm hoping they're still able to make it over. Tomorrow, lots of errands to do and I want to squeeze in some shopping, then on Sunday we're having a bunch of people over for brunch.

ugh. i'm happy it's friday but since my power went off last night, i'm kinda wishing it wasn't so i'd have somewhere to go warm all during the weekend.
if our power doesn't come back on, i'm hoping the ils have power so we can go stay with them. my dog is home now, and luckily we cranked the heat up last night so it's not unbearably cold..
i'm mad though, we went to costco on sunday.. and now all the meat we bought is probably ruined! soooo much money down the effing drain.
i just wanted to pack my freezer with snow but didn't want it to melt all over the kitchen floor by the time i got home.
really hoping the power everywhere gets restored and all of this snow goes away. i've always hated it and always will.. and this sh!t is why.
Decided to keep the shelter that i work at open today since the buses aren't running regularly/library is closed and they have no way to get around in this mess.Hopefully well come up with some fun activities so that they are entertained and they don't drive me too crazy.
I really want to go skiing tomorrow at Crystal and then Dimsum on Sunday with friends hopefully.
Good Morning.. So far I've been loving the snow, snow removal is a pita though.. since we live on a hill the only way to get to where we want it down and around the long way. For some things that's okay for others it's a pain.. I won't complain though I love the white!

it might be ok if the power comes back on today and you guys leave the fridge/freezer closed. It's pretty well insulated so it should stay cold for at least a little while. And if you froze the meat and it thaws, you can still cook it as long as it stayed cold.
ETA: also if you're worried, you can just buy a thermometer and put it in the fridge and/or freezer to check the temp, the fridge should be 4 degrees C so anything in the fridge or freezer would be ok below that.

Happy Friday! I don't have much planned today except a mid-day "beauty" appointment.
H and I are supposed to fly up to Seattle tonight but I don't know if we're going to go. They cancelled the first 6 flights of the day out of SFO to SEA, but I'm pretty sure ours will be on. However, my parents lost power yesterday and don't appear to have it back yet (they went to a hotel but every time I call their home phone I get a weird message about their phone not working). I'm bummed because H and I have tickets to the UW game tomorrow and Cavalia on Sunday and they'll go to waste, but flying up there for the weekend right now seems like a disaster (though I admit, I am tempted to go to the airport to see if they are overbooking flights and offering vouchers - would not mind a travel credit and it seems likely given the clusterf*ck that will be going on with all this winter travel!).
If we don't come up to Seattle, then we have nothing planned this weekend which could be very nice. Still haven't decided - I'm waiting until about 3 PM or so to see if the power comes back on and to see how things progress once the snow / ice start melting...
happy friday everyone. I'm so glad I rebooked my flight for Saturday, because as of now all of the morning flights are cancelled for today. hopefully the rain will come in and melt the snow/ice so I can get home.
I was able to treat the inlaws to a super yummy dinner last night. We went to this gastropub and I had steak and duck fat fries

I think SMIL and I are going to get mani/pedis today, not sure what other plans are. I need to get work done, so I've been doing that as well.
Hello! Yes this week has been dragging! We worked Monday but after that we were snowed in completely. So we had our friends come visit, they all live about a block away from us up here, and we basically had a drunk 3 day holiday. It was pretty cool. But now the snow is melting pretty fast up here and I'm ready to get out in the real world again.
Tonight I'm getting my 40lbs of chicken then going over to FIL's and vaccum pack all of it with their Foodsaver. Then off to get my pup whose been stuck at my parents since all this began. Can't wait to see him, I hear he's depressed.
Tomorrow, going to a Chinese New Year party. Yum, I seriously can't wait. My friend can cook her ass off and it was amazing last year. Then Sunday, H and I are cooking dinner for my parents and sis for my mom's birthday. Should be a full, but fun, weekend! Hope you ladies have a great one!
Ugh - I'm here. I gave my notice yesterday and today is very awkward in the office.
DH is still stuck OOT. They decided to hop a flight from Phoenix to Vegas because they could possibly get out sooner in the long run. Phoenix has limited flights a day to SEA whereas Vegas has a ton. But due to the backlog of flights due into SEA, earliest they might make it home is tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow is our company "holiday" party. I was begged by the one partner who will talk to me to go - ugh.

Happy Friday! Our power was out all day yesterday, we finally got it back this morning. We had to make a run to Ace Hardware to get buckets so we could put our food from the fridge/freezer in them. Put them outside and packed them with snow. We also picked up some wine while at Safeway. : )
Ended up playing board games and reading. We played the game of Life and then we played "the game of Life" if you know what I mean...::wink wink, nudge nudge::
I didn't work Wednesday, we actually closed the store all day Wednesday and Thursday. God knows why the mall was still open...crazy peoples...
