23% of Facebook users will unfriend a person for posting depressing comments.
I haven't actually unfriended for this, just hidden people.
Re: RFOTD
I've hidden people for that reason.
Mostly I get unfriended because I fact check statuses and that makes people mad.
That's both sad and revealing.
I've defriended about 90% of my list at this point. Mostly for not contributing anything positive to my life. (Part of a long-term simplification project, FWIW)
I will auto-defriend anyone who tries to use FB to push their MLM carp on me.
I haven't defriended because of this, but I do "hide" people.
I had to hide someone because they constantly either: (a) gave an entire "to-do" list for their day of random crap, or (b) would complain about how bored she was at home and how hard her life was when she couldn't get online to play games or didn't want to get off the couch to get her nails done. She's a stay-at-home wife with NO responsibilities. Annoying.

Funny how that works, huh? "Let me have my ignorance, dangit!"
I was hidden by a high school friend after I told him to butt out of my uterus (in a conversation about other people weighing in on us not wanting to have kids).
