Since I run all aspects of our business, I am of course in charge of how we handle our advertising. We don't do much print, as it is 2012 and who the heck owns a phone book anymore? We focus mainly on our internet presence and spend the majority of our money on that.
I just made the decision to switch companies on who does our SEO marketing, hosting and other various tasks dealing with our site. We had several meetings about it and it is due to start at the end of February.
This is very risky because although we get alot of referral business and "word of mouth" type folks, this is the other big component of why we get new business.
Our old company is being really difficult in releasing the files so that we can make a smooth transition. I am actually surprised considering the tens of thousands of dollars we have spent with them. Fvckers. Nothing is ever easy.
Re: Risky Business
I'd suggest tattooing the company name on one butt cheek and the phone number on the other butt cheek.
Hop on the copier and start putting those fliers on cars outside of bars and strip clubs!
That would be way more cost effective!
This is probably exactly why they are not particularly forthcoming with handing over the files, they realize the loss of revenue. Good luck and I hope they cooperate soon.
