LisaMinFL & others - fiesta pinboard
Here's my fiesta pinboard. It's a little ADD at the moment until I decide what direction I'm going, but there should be plenty of inspiration for you there.
Re: LisaMinFL & others - fiesta pinboard
Some great images in there!
I read some of the posts below and wanted to offer my .02 on how to get bang for you buck.
- save by skipping the koozies (they're cute, but too much $ IMO)
- have at least 2 sombreros - for photo ops - especially one with the bride & groom
- I def agree with the great suggestions for low-cost decor:paper bag luminaries & papel picado
- have your food and drink double as decor - set up the coronas in a cool/festive ice bucket, have a pretty bowl with the limes, maybe set up a cute tequila shot station next to the margarita machine
- how about a tequila shot toast to the bride and groom? I once went to a wedding where they did champagne toast (during the MOH speech) and a shot toast (during the BM speech)
- Lastly, I know you're leaning towards not having a pinata.... but I would DEF have it!! I think it's one of those things that people recall years later. "Remember when so-and-so took a funny swing at the pinata during the shower? That was hillarious!" It doesn't have to be pricey. I think you can do candy, not condoms or liquor. Think individually wrapped twizzlers, little M&M/Skittles bags, tiny boxes of nerds, tootsie rolls, etc. I once went to a corporate fiesta with a pinata and it was a hit after a few hours of drinking.
Good luck!
Do you have a hispanic market? Go there for candy for the pi?ata. I agree that it's a great not to be missed idea.
I know you talked about doing Frozen margs, but a cute thing from a decor standpoint would be a Make-Your-Own margarita bar.
I also agree with skipping the koozies. Spend that money elsewhere.
Thanks for sharing your "Pinterest" board. The colors are gorgeous. Can hardly wait for your menu and post-event "What worked, What didn't"...

Thanks! Looks like you are off to a great start! I love all of the bright colors.
I'm sorry your friend flat out asked the bride, but I'm sure she will love it!
I found this also (on the knot believe it or not!), some of it is a little much, but I think the mantle is really cute, the flowers are nice, and the linens are simple, but festive.

Gator - you always have such great ideas!
- I'd shop around for the koozies bc yes, at $4 each, they are too expensive, but I do think they'd add at lot to the party (and if I only bought a few, I wouldn't be stuck with a million of them)
- tequila shot sounds FUN!
- I'm trying to think now where to put the pinata - I don't think there's anywhere to hang it from that there's enough room to swing
Kate - you're so sweet to think I have access to all this stuff. I live in what's essentially the boonies, just 15k people. I've never lived in a town this small and I chafe at it all the time! I'll also post the interior of my house in another post to talk about lay out - there's not room to do lots of "make your own."
Lisa - I didn't think about decorating the fireplace really, other than throwing a sombrero up there, but I like what they've done there
