peep toe pumps in the winter--yay or nay??

I'm on the hunt for some nude pumps & black pumps. I seem to be drawn to peep toes for some reason right now. Looking for something I can dress up for work or wear with jeans? I'm in Jersey so we DO experience winter. Thoughts?

  • Usually I'm against this.  I saw a girl on the train last week in 20 degree wearing peep toes.  Seems stupid to me

Yeah what am I thinking, lol, i'm alllllllllways cold at work when I wear my wedges!!  Peep toes are just so darn cute (and i'm trying to be cost effective here). Hmmm...

And If I were commuting on the train or there was snow on the ground I'd most def be in boots. I did the train thing for 3 months and it sucked!

  • I personally like the look of peep toe with socks or tights. I agree in 20 degree weather without stocking it will look stupid, but worn with tights it looks chic.

I agree with this! Just wear boots for a commute and change :O)

  • This TOTALLY depends where I am. I probably wouldn't in NJ. I definitely would in San Diego or Miami.

  • I also love peep toes. I would wear them with tights, black, gray, or if you're adventurous maybe a navy or plum. And definitely wear boots if it's freezing or there's snow on the ground, and just change your shoes when you get to work.

  • I'm against it unless you live in FL or something.

  • I don't mind black or colored opaque tights with peep toe pumps or booties.  I don't do it myself because my feet freeze very easily so I typically wear high heeled booties and black opaque tights when it's cold outside.  It jibes with my edgy look, ha.
  • There is snow on the ground now here.  Nay.
  • I vote Yay to nude or black pumps & tights and to tights! But Nay to peep toes in the winter.  It shouldn't be hard to find cute shoes with closed toes, it's more professional, annnd (to be honest) I tend judge people who choose form over function.  If there are great winter options, why not look great and be weather appropriate?  It makes you look like you've got more sense.

But if you haven't jumped on the tights train I say go for it! They are everywhere this year and come in so many great colors and patterns. It's a great way to add some variety to your work clothes!

  • No you will look silly in Nj wearing them in the winter
  • I think it's fine! My feet/toes are no more warm in closed toe shoes in the winter. lol

  • For a formal event, yes.

For anything else, I wouldn't judge but think it can come off as silly/trying too hard unless it is unseasonably warm.

  • Peeps and Tights for nice events are fine but commuting and work it looks silly. Just find closed shoes. Save your peeps for April.

  • I wear peep-toes year round, I just prefer the look of them to closed-toe and it's fairly common to see others wearing them too.

  • Nay in the winter. But I'm from New England. Although I'm a huge fan of tights, peep toes with or without tights are almost always a Nay around here.

BUT- they are the first thing I break out in the Spring!  :)

  • I love to wear peep toe pumps and I wear them whole year. If you also love to wear them you can wear whenever you want.
  • I love to wear peep toe pumps, but definitely nay in the winter.
  • It depends, In winters I wear at day times but not on daily basis. :)
