A recipe with sausage and pasta????
I made a recipe a long time ago and I can't remember if I got it from here or not.....it was sausage and pasta. I remember I had to take the sausage out of the casing and cook it on the stove....first, then I don't remember anything else except we liked it! LOL I don't even remember what else was in the recipe...beans maybe?!?!?
Does anyone have a recipe like this or another good sausage and pasta recipe? I don't have a ton of ingredients, but I have a lot of the basics and can hopefully get to the store if I have to when we go sledding later!
Thanks!
Re: A recipe with sausage and pasta????
It wasnt the pastina bake was it? I believe the original recipe called for chicken but when I made mine I used sausage.
Otherwise I'm not sure what it could be.
No it wasn't that! I think it called for rigatoni or ziti???
I have two recipes that I make with sausage and rigatoni.
The first is sausage, broccoli rabe, cannelini beans and rigatoni and the second is a spicy sausage pink sauce with rigatoni (taking the sausage out of the casing).
Do you want one of these?
you can make this with whatever pasta you want - Tortellini with Sausage & Peas in Vodka Sauce
I also make something similar to what Tina described with broccoli rabe and cannellini beans, lots of garlic, oil, crushed red pepper, etc.

Yes please...the spicy one with pink sauce! Maybe we will try that one tonight, then I might not have to go to the food store!
Remove the sausage (2 lbs min but you can do 3 if you like sausage a lot. I do because Aaron loves the crumbles and calls them mini meatballs and eats a ton of it) from casings and begin to brown in pan crumbling/breaking apart as you brown. Add pinch of salt and fresh ground pepper to your liking.
Add one finely chopped large onion, 5 minced cloves of garlic and red pepper flakes (how much will depend on how spicy you like your food and if you are starting with hot or sweet sausage).
Continue cooking together until all the pink is gone from the sausage.
Add 2 or 3 large cans of Tuttorusso crushed tomatoes with basil (again will depend on how think you like your sauce or how much you want to make).
Add fresh basil now if you have any on hand and how much again depends on how much you like....see a trend here? lol
Cover and simmer on low for however long you can afford. I like to let it come together for about an hour.
Boil pasta. While pasta is cooking add in heavy cream (again how much depends on how pink you like your sauce).
Drain pasta and add it to sauce pot. Remove from heat, combine and serve.
Delish!
