Kindle Question

My mother has a Kindle and I am going to buy the Kindle Fire.  Do I need to buy it through her account for us to be able to share books?  Or is there a way to sync accounts later so we can have access to eachother's purchased books?

Re: Kindle Question

  • I *think* you can buy the Kindle Fire from any account and then register it under your mother's account so that you can get the same books.  I'm not even close to 100% on that, though, so maybe you should call Amazon customer service and ask them.

  • The fire works different than a kindle does though and once the fire de-registers from an account, the books aren't on it anymore (unlike the kindle that you can register to others and download their books and then re-register to yourself and still have those downloaded books). May not be a big deal as you'll probably stayed registered to each other, but just a difference I noticed with my friend's fire.
