Does anyone have an etsy account? If so, are there any tips to starting an etsy business? Anything I need to know about? How do you claim your income?
Re: etsy?
I have an account and buy on etsy, but don't have my own shop. I would say that having good photos of your products is important. When deciding which shop to buy from I always go with the ones with the best photos (assuming prices and everything else are competitive). I guess it's just an attention to detail thing. It makes me feel like when I get my package, the craftsmanship will be excellent. But also it makes me feel like I've really seen what I'm getting.
Good luck!
I've had a shop since 2008. Its a TON of fun and VERY stressful all at the same time. It takes a lot of work. Etsy has become very saturated so you will have to work extra hard to stand out. If you have specific questions I'd be happy to answer as best as I can.
I am the leader of an Etsy Street team that is made up of all knotties, nesties, and bumpies. Its called the Knotties and Nesties Etsy team (creative i know lol)
you can check out info about us here and feel free to apply to the team if you do open a shop!

I have a shop (about a year old now). I had a lot of fun with it in the beginning, but i found the marketing really time consuming. I have certainly not been getting out of it what i have put into it.
It's such a busy marketplace now that it's really hard for your stuff to stand out. It's also hard to build up that following of supporters. It's cheap enough to get going though, so i would say it's totally worth a try.
