ETA: Silhouette Cameo Roller Question/Mat Pulling to the Side

I just got my Cameo and was anxious to use it, however it seems I have an issue (though it could be operator error - highly likely), since this is my first time using a program like this.

When I use the release lever, only one side, the right side comes up, making it hard to get the paper underneath.  Do both the left and ride side of the roller bar lift up when loading the mat?

Maybe a better description of the problem is that tte mat is not feeding straight and therefore it won't cut right or just stops all together. I'm really hoping this isn't something ttat will require me to send it back, but my BIL seems to think the roller/lever was broken from the beginning.

Re: ETA: Silhouette Cameo Roller Question/Mat Pulling to the Side

  • I don't use the release lever - (sorry not sure what that is) to get my paper/vinyl out i push the eject button. Did you try that?

  • It's like I can't get tte paper to feed without lifting the release bar and when it does feed, it goes through crooked.
  • Have the white rollers been adjusted to fit the media/mat? I've only had mine for 2 days and I'm still figuring it out, but I had this problem when I tried to cut vinyl the first few times. The first thing I had to change was adjusting the right roller to the 12" position (for vinyl) from the 13" position (for the mat). Also I realized that I was hitting "Load Cutting Mat" on the machine instead of "Load Media." Those two things resolved my issue!

  • You can either try adjusting the roller width, or that doesn't help, just give customer service a call, or shoot them an email. They should be able to walk you through the problem.

  • Hi orangeblossom -- I know your post was from a loooong time ago, but I was just wondering if you ever found a solution to your problem with the left roller not lifting up? I just got the Cameo and having the same exact issue. It is driving me nuts! Stupid cutting mat slides all over the place, lol.

    Thanks! :)
