Gotta love husbands

He's out watching the game. I was in the bathroom around 9 and our doorbell rings. No one ever rings our bell, let alone at 9 at night. Obviously I wasn't expecting anyone so I didn't answer. They rang about 2 more times and then nothing. 5 minutes later I hear our screen door open and someone is knocking. At this point, I'm shaking (because I'm a baby. lol).I text our neighbors to ask if it was one of them (knowing it wasn't because they know Mia would be sleeping and not ring the bell) I let a few minutes pass and look out the peephole. There's a car with it's lights on parked in front (we're in a townhouse and the car is in dh's spot facing our door). I ask "who is it?" and no one answers. My neighbor texts that she sent her dh out to look and he saw a bunch of kids in a car at the end of the street and they drove away. Okay, wtf? Anyway. I've been texting dh telling him what was going on and after a few questions he says "the front door?". Our back door is a glass slider and we have a fenced in yard. Did he really think that I wouldn't have been on the phone w/ the cops in TWO SECONDS if someone had been trying to get in there? lol. Ugh.

Aren't you curious who it was??? I'd have to answer the door to know who it was. But I'm that idiot that might then be chopped into tiny pieces. lol

  • Yes, I'm extremely curious who it was but I'm also a huge chicken who was dressed in yoga pants and a tank top w/ no bra. lol. I don't know, my guess is maybe they were at the wrong house? I'm hoping that's what it was. It's just weird that they were in our driveway and must have gone and come back or something since there was a good 5 minute space in between.

  • I never answer the door if I'm not expecting someone! Yesterday Matt was here and he answered and it was actually FedEx... I would have ignored it, because there is no way to check without opening the door or using the intercom. lol

    PS - Duh Dave! ;-)

Same here. We have a peephole but we also have a little window to the side of the door. It's not facing forward but if someone was at our door, they could certainly walk 3 steps to the side and look in. So, no thanks. Guess I'll be curtain shopping first thing in the morning.

I answer every time. And you'd think I'd learn a lesson. Sometimes it's a decoy kid to get me to open up to hear from the adult hiding around the bend that I'm going to hell if I don't accept the lord as my savior. Sometimes it's the hippies wanting me to sign a bill for something and give a donation, a boy scout with popcorn, a girl scout with cookies, a footballer with a discount card for $10, and last but not least the hot PSE&G meter checker.

But do they come at 9 on a Sunday night? If so, you're crazy and stop answering the damn door! lol.

  • Oh god, you just reminded me! I was making dinner one night and Dave opens the door. I hear someone telling him they're selling magazines for their high school or something and with that, he's in the kitchen with this woman who is absolutely NOT in high school. She's looks like a crack whore and doesn't smell much better. He's got her in our kitchen while I'm cooking and Mia hanging out and asking her if he can give a credit card and she's like "No, it's got to be cash". hahaha. I was just like "Um, just leave the envelopes and maybe we'll order later, thanks". My god! lol.
