We celebrated T's birthday this weekend with my ILs during the visit to MI.
I plan to make all of my kids birthday cakes until they ask me to stop... This year was a 3D t-rex.
My MIL took the first cake I made out of the oven, tested it and swore it was done. When I flipped it out of the pan the center of the cake fell out and ran all over the counter- it looked like a big donut. So I had to make two cakes.
It's a bit wonky, but I think it turned out ok. T loved it.

And, of course, the birthday boy with his cake:

Re: AW: T-Rex Cake
Thanks!
Ive worked with fondant before. It has always been store bought though. It was easy enough to make, but I did find it a bit more delicate than the store bought stuff. And that made me nervous using it and didn't let me smooth it out well enough (once it was on a frosted area, it seemed to be on for good because it would tear easily)

So far I've made: circus themed cupcakes, a 3D farm, a 3D fire truck, Very Hungry Caterpillar cake/cupcakes, and this dinosaur. I'm already planning what I'll make in May for Ben
