I am going to need to start weaning Charlie, My elbow is way bad right now and I need to start taking care of myself and to do that means I may not be able to continue breastfeeding. Any advice or clues. He doesn't drink formula that well, so I am worried about not getting enough nutrients. He is 8 months old
Re: BF Mamas Help
Do you have a pump that you can use insted to start weaning him on to formula? Maybe mix some of the formula in with the milk to get him used to the taste more? I feel ya though...I had to quit BF about 3 months ago because it was just too painful for me (from day 1 it's been horrible), and then he started cutting teeth and I threw my hands up and said we're just pumping and supplementing what I can't keep up with!
You did a great job getting to 8 months though!
We are just starting to see preferance with Ian. At daycare, grandma's, from dh if I am not home Ian will take a bottle of formula no problem. If I am anywhere near him, it's boob he wants. Little stinker.
I have a friend with a 4m old that is just the opposite, the bottle gets him food faster, so he wants that bottle. What nipple size are you using for the bottles? That can sometimes be the differance.
Have you tried a sippy cup with bm or formula?
