Anybody tried the goughnuts cannoli? (and other work to eat)

I'm on the search for a toy I can stuff and freeze.  The black Kongs are no match for my dogs (they literally shred them), so I'm wondering if the cannolis are any more durable.  We have the black goughnuts sticks, donuts, and ball, and they've all held up, but the cannolis are red, not black, so I'm not sure they're as durable.

I suppose if they're not durable, they do have a money back guarantee.  I froze my dog's kibble in a mason jar this weekend, if that tells you how desperate I am for something to keep them busy for a while.

  • I have not tried their Cannolis. I do love their other products. We just had to send in a green ball and a green stick to be replaced. Gotta love crazy chewing pitties!

    I'd email them and ask.

  • From what I know of those toys the red ones won't be a durable and aren't intended to be left alone with the dog like the black ones. In fact when the black ones start showing red is when you are supposed to take them away.

Have you tried an everlasting treatball? A friend of mine has one that has even stood up to her Malinois (a hard feat, I assure you) and my dog has had hers for well over a year. You don't have to put the "refills" in the sides and you can stuff it full of kibble. Freezing it could be tricky as it is open on both ends but I'm sure you could get creative.

We use an everlasting treat balls, but they are pretty easily destroyed by our guys. If you are supervising them, I'd say go for it, but I wouldn't leave them unsupervised with them.

I also got one for a foster once and it was destroyed (the treat and the ball itself) within 15 minutes.

  • I wouldn't leave them unsupervised with it, particularly because I plan on stuffing it with a meal (or at least whatever part of a meal I can fit in there).  I can't leave them alone with the Kongs either.  No joke, I freeze their food in there, then in the half hour it takes them to eat the contents, the Kong is shredded in the middle section from them squeezing it to pop the food loose.  When my dogs are unsupervised, they have access to the black goughnuts toys and antlers.

I considered freezing food in leftover yogurt containers (the big ones, not single serve), but I don't want to risk them cutting their gums on the plastic.  Rudi's way too smart for the Tricky Treat Ball (I donated that and the Tug-A-Jug because it was nearly pointless) and our dry food (ziwi peak) isn't really compatible with buster cubes.  I suppose even if I freeze the food in a cylinder shape, then pop it out of the yogurt container, it'll buy me a few minutes of quiet time, but I'd love to have something more challenging.

I'll order one cannoli and let you guys know how it goes!

  • No help at all, but I had to laugh at ...

(I donated that and the Tug-A-Jug because it was nearly pointless) .....

because Rufus cannot figure tug-a-jug out, whatsoever! hehe
