I know this has been asked about a billion times, but what is your go-to for poop eating puppies?
I've read that some sprinkle it with Tabasco sauce after the puppy goes, apple cider vinegar, even Italian dressing(yikes).
Biiiiig fan of Dexter's kisses and not interested in them the last few days
Re: Poop eating...oy.
Okay. So maybe this is a dumb question, but if you are going to go through all the trouble to sprinkle it with stuff, why not just pick it up?
I had a poo eating foster who I fed canned pineapple in water. She never ate it again after that.
Oh believe me..I didn't think it was a huge deal either, but he is like a little scavenger on our walks! We live in a townhome community and not all of our neighbors are as dilegent as we are with picking up poop on walks, so there is alot around. I pick it up when there are some around that I see, but he like sniffs it out.
It didn't really seem like he did it until we started obedience school and he has been getting a lot of treats. Almost like he thinks they are biscuits haha...yiiiiiiiikes.

To address the issue from the other end....(lol)
Our Vet recommended we sprinkle generic Meat Tenderizer on the food of the dog who's poop is being eaten. In our case, Cooper does not eat his own, but he will eat my sisters dogs' (& others...but those others we can't control ie: dog park), so when my sisters dog stays w/us, we sprinkle it on her food & it does seem to deter him from munching Lol.
I will have to say that when other dogs are around/have been in our yard, I am a lot more diligent at picking up the yard...& as for being at the dog park, we have to watch him like a hawk, bum deal, but what can you do ::shrugs::
GL!
Sorry to hijack but I know what you are dealing with.
My dog doesn't eat her own poop but will eat other dog's poop.
How do I stop that? I can't try put stuff on hers to train her to not eat any because she won't eat hers. She's never had any interest in her own.
But some of the dog parks around here are huge (acres and acres big) and a little wild and unkempt, so some people aren't great about picking up their dogs' poop. So if my dog gets a few yards ahead and sees a snack, I can't stop her in time.
