If I tried to make one of these, would it most likely be a disaster if I've never done this before? I'd most likely just do 1 tier. I have the character figurines, and I really want to make the stars with his name. So, I imagine the hardest part would be coloring enough fondant and making the designs, no?

I found a recipe for marshmallow fondant...have you ever tried that before?

In my mind this seems easy enough, but so did everything else I've made that's ended up being a Pinterest disaster!  

Thoughts? Tips?

F*ck. Well, thanks! I figured it would probably be a nightmare. I just really want something like it and don't want to pay $50+ for it cause I'm way too cheap. I think I'm going to attempt the fondant by itself, and see how much of a PITA that is first, and then decide.

Ditto to Tiff, but if you really want to do it, I do suggest making your own fondant. Don't buy that pre-made sh!t...it's nasty. The coloring part isn't that bad, just be prepared that if you use your hands, your fingers and nails will be stained for a while.

seriously, buy it. The time and $$ you put into making it yourself will come out about even. Trust me....80+ cupcakes later, pink icing everywhere and a large cupcake cake. :-)
