WTF is wrong with people?

We just got a notification thru the BofEd that a man tried to lure a student from my son's school into his van at one of the bus stops.  This was not too far from my house.  Really - what the hell is wrong with people that the feel the need to go after children?  I know this happens everyday and everywhere, but it is very scary so close to home.

Sadly, a lot. That is so scary. I remember getting letters home when I was in elementary about a man asking kids to get in his car. People are sick.

I get a pit in my stomach whenever we get these notifications b/c it scares the *** out of me!  We've had about 7 so far this year....in our district and the district we are affiliated with.   It's a shame that this is the world we live in.

It's been happening all over bergen county too. Add that to the four synogogues vandalized and a Molotov cocktail thrown threw the Rabbi's window leading my kid's school needing to email parents about added security by police, and Pennsylvania's governor asking schools to fly the flag at half mast for JoePa, I don't know where anyone's head is at.
