More than 1 person has told me they've managed to get through TSA at DIA without taking their baby out of the Ergo, so I'm considering taking that on our trip. I practiced a bit with it this weekend. Now, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Once it's on, I'm comfortable, baby's comfortable, but it's a PITA to actually get on and I don't think I could do it without DH's help unless maybe I sit down. Not ideal. It has to be easier than I'm making it. Tips please?

I fasten it around my waist and make it as tight as possible. Then i put L in the NB insert, hold him against me with one hand and slip the other arm through the shoulder strap, then do the sam thin with the other hand. Once they are on my shoulders i reach both arms behind my head and buckle it accross the shoulders.
I can do it pretty quickly in the mall parking lot, it just takes a bit of practice
I'm going to try to go through security next week and see what they do about the Ergo.
It does take practice and in time you get faster. I still am nervous doing the back carry position by myself. For the front I tighten the waist belt then have DD's legs wrap around my waist as much as she's comfortable and then I hold her against me with one hand and with the free hand slip that strap over my shoulder. Then brace her with the other hand and put the shoulder strap on the other side. Then I put the back clip on, but just make sure to have it up high enough so you can reach it when reaching over your back.
Also they have how to videos on their website.

Ok. It's definitely the back clip that was giving me issues. I'll see if I can figure out how to get it adjusted to it's positioned easier. And I'll see if I can find some videos
Bran_ham - what day will you be at DIA? If it's Wednesday we might see you there

I agree with schoolsout about moving the back strap higher so you can reach it. It just takes some practice.
I have worn the Ergo through security several times when DD was in infant and they did not make me take it off about 75% of the time. They will pat you down if you wear it. Make sure you have a thin shirt on under the Ergo, I think that helps. Also make sure nothing is in that outer pocket, I forgot once there was a (metal) pacifier clip in there. GL!
