They are checking my references!! They want to speak to a board member that I worked with. Oh no! I mean I worked with the board, but at the same time I was kept very isolated from them for the first year and half I was at my last job. Oh....I hope this goes well....I feel sick....

Re: Job #2 is almost mine

~~~good job vibes~~~
It is going to be just fine. No one is going to say anything but good things about you. I check people's refs all day long, and everyone always says good things.
No worries!
Are people allowed to say bad things? My previous employer has a policy to only confirm employment dates. I hope they stick to that. My reviews were good so it's not that there is dirt to dig up, but I did leave b/c my new boss was an a$$ and if anyone talks to him he'll just make side comments to show he didn't get along with me.
There aren't any state laws or federal laws in tact, that I am aware of. I do know that signed releases employers have you sign, allowing people they call to release information are popular. You'd know if you signed this.
But in most cases even w/ that peice of paper everyone is sooo afraid of being sued for this that or the other, that almost all companies only verify d's/d's (dates and duties). They wouldn't jinx their est. on the ability to ruin your future.
So sorry for the babble, but almost all people ONLY give d's/d's. If even that.
You are in the clear!
::fingers crossed::
I'm sure you'll get it hun.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
