I can't speak for all Best Buy Geek Squads, but my brother works for one (not in Omaha) and has done a great job. They'll work on computers even if they weren't purchased at BB, I believe.

That's where we should have taken it in the first place!  Do you have any idea if they are expensive (relatively speaking)?  We did purchase the computer from BB about 2.5 years ago.  It got a virus and we had someone fix it.  The person who did loaded what seems to be a pirated version of Windows 7 onto it and it hasn't worked properly since.  It's a computer we use very rarely but I will need to use it when I work from home after maternity leave.

I'm not sure about costs. I can't imagine it being any more than taking it to any other computer repair place. I'd be sure to tell them you want an estimate of the cost before they fix it. I think they're pretty good about telling you whether or not it's worth it, etc. Good luck!

I think geek squad is pretty pricey. I know my DH has fixed a few pc's that have come back from there (unfixed or because they were so pricey) from people he works with.  I'll try to remember to ask him tonight where he would suggest.

I think someone on here suggested ARN on 144th & L (by BW3's).

We use Digital Dot for our graphics computers at work. My coworker's husband owns it and they do great work. They are pretty reasonable too.
