My toddler wants to sleep on the floor EVERY NIGHT
I am happy that I am not having the issues of her going to sleep that some moms are having, although it is big production every night. Typically we read and then she wants to get pillow pets for us and lay on the floor and sing. I stay there with her until she is calm or is asleep - usually a half hour. She went through phases in the past, but then went back to sleeping in her toddler bed. I got her princess sheets to make it more appealing, but it is every night now. What can I do to get her back in her toddler bed? I am grateful she goes to sleep, and she is obviously comfy on the floor, but I just would like her to go back to sleeping in a bed...advice?
Re: My toddler wants to sleep on the floor EVERY NIGHT
my friend's 2yo does the same thing.
I say - go with it... if she's sleeping fine and there's no danger- why change it?
My son sleeps on the floor 5 out of 7 nights. We also have sleeping issues so this is one battle I choose to lose.
Once I get him to finally STAY in his room rather than come to our bed I'll work on the bed thing.
We did this with Travis and one night we just decided that was ridiculous we had to stay in there. He's was fine. Hey as long as she's sleeping!
My son will be 3 in May and for the past week or so has been BEGGING to sleep on the floor too ...
I pick and choose my battles so I say Great ... sleep on the floor!
then as soon as he is out like a light, we transfer him....
Good idea with the sleeping bag though Amy!
This is what we're considering doing too since we think his toddler bed is too small for him since he moves all night long. We THINK that's his issue but when we ask he just says he doesn't like his bed. The same damn Cars bed he begged for btw. lol My only hesitation is that a - we'd have to spend more money on a new mattress and bedding for a full size bed and b - rearrange his room and move my other sons crib to fit the full size. And we don't know if that will really solve the sleeping issues.
