i have a call into the ped because he is still coughing a lot. its better (less congested) but keeps him up at night and makes him choke when he eats sometimes.
what could the next course of action be?
they used a nebulizer in the office. then he had an inhaler for the weekend. then they said let it run its course for 7-10 days. its been 12 days and its not getting much better.
i am just curious what else they can do? he's so little i hate this and it makes me so nervous. my coworkers are freaking me out that its tb or whooping cough
Re: so what can the ped do
call for sure- it might be in his chest now and need antibiotics. Our ped always says to bring them in if it's keeping them up at night badly... they want to check the chest.
good luck- that sucks
i already called and i am waiting to hear back. i was curious if they'd give him an rx and what type of rx they could give him. my poor little man
I was also going to say that he might need antibiotics now. When my daughter gets a really bad cough that settles in her chest - we are usually put on antibiotics, an oral steriod and the nebulizer. It takes a couple of days but that usually knocks it out. Sometimes the nebulizer isn't enough.
I forget his age, but I'm thinking he may need an antibiotic. Also we've had steroids for bad coughs and cough meds even at a young age because M would
Cough so made he'd vomit
love the new siggy
and he's just three months
