    yes, you should consider it for realsies.   That's a good time of year for us, not too hot yet and not too humid.   Probably even be warm enough to go to the beach around then.

    Galveston is the closest island and yes, it has beaches.   I wouldn't say they are the best beaches (not even in the state), but it works because it does have sand and water and umbrella drinks.    That's the best time of year to go, the sand doesn't burn your toes yet like it will in July/August.      Galveston is a little over an hour for me to get to, but easy enough for a day trip if you are craving sunlight, salt water, and ocean breezes.

  • There is a few in the Chicago area in March.  It's still a little chilly in March but Chi is always fun!  Although I am about 30 min from the city, even longer in rush hour but any weekend date would be traffic free.

    Galveston would totally be worth the trip.
