Lasik recommendations

Hi ladies!  I'm finally ready to take the Lasik plunge, and I'm looking for doctor/eye clinic recommendations.  My opthamologist quoted me $2600 per eye, which I thought sounded high, so I want to shop around a bit.  Do you have any recommendations for doctors who do it in the $3k range?  Bonus points if the doctor is located in Arlington/Alexandria.  TIA!

Re: Lasik recommendations

  • My husband went to the Eye Doctor's of Washington and was thrilled with the results. They take care of the Capitals and we got a promo through being a season ticket holder (though I can send you a game-used ticket stub for $1000 off). It was about $3600 (including all appointments, meds, etc) , after a $1500 savings. They also have a "10 year warranty" which is essentially if he ever needs it to be adjusted (eyes are always changing) they will do it at absolutely no cost to us. That was a big plus for us.

They are in DC (we went to the Friendship Heights office) and it was easy to get to (parking was a garage) and would recommend them highly to anyone. GL!

  • I used Dr. Whitten.  I think he is with the laser center.  I did it eight years ago and still love it.

    GL!

  • Both DH and I used Dr. Neil Wills at LasikPlus in 2006 and we're still very happy with the results. He works at their Alexandria and Tysons Corner locations. $2500 covered both eyes for us back then, so hopefully he matches your price range still.

  • Thank you, ladies!  I will look into these doctors.
