Who has the Target debit card?

Is there any reason for me NOT to do this?

From what I can see there aren't any negatives.  Am I missing anything?

I keep wondering if I'm missing something too, ha!  I've had it for about 6 months and no drawbacks so far!

Totally have it and use it all the time.  There is a slight delay in it hitting your bank account, whereas a normal debit card card hits immediately, the Target debit card usually hits 2 days later or so.  But I sure love saving 5%!  And you can allocate another 5% to a school of your choice.

I have to too. It's great. The only negative I thought about was the fact that if you were ordering online with it to get the free shipping, a debit card is a little less secure.

So is it open to anyone that has a bank account? Is there a credit check or "limit" (obviously if it's attached to the bank account, that's your limit, but do they limit you other than that?)? Extra fees or anything?

You bring a blank check in and they attach it to that account. No fees. And since my hubby and I have weekly dates at Target it has saved us money. Also the Smart Phone coupons have been SLICK!

So this isn't on your credit as an actual "credit card" since it's debit? Oh I'm liking the sound of this!

I signed up about a week ago for one to get a discount on car seats.

The geek in me had to do the match- spend $100 per week for a year you are saving $260.00 using the 5% back, plus I love that Target sends coupons and you can piggy back the manufacturer coupon with.

Also, for us diaper users- $20 bag/box of diapers, use your Target debit card and you save $1 plus coupons.  Nice!

Love my debit. It's just like using your own debit card --- comes straight from your bank account. When you use it online, you always get free shipping Like PP, it does have a slight delay coming out of checking account. But no negatives that I've found. K - have you signed up for Target's text coupons??

Just did I had on my old phone but it couldn't open the links. I didnt' think to do it on my iPhone until today.

I saved 3 dollars on diapers the other day because I had a manufacturer coupon and then the text coupon as well.

I've had my Target Debit Card for 4 years.  I signed up almost the second they offered it because I was working there and the only card you could use your Team Member Discount on was the Target Card (Debit or Credit).  I have never had any problems with the card and love that they've added the 5% discount and free shipping from the website!  My favorite side benefit is since this is the only card I use at Target because of the discount, it's easy to return items if I've lost the receipt because they can look it up on your card.  Only time I've dealt with their customer service was to change my name after my wedding and they were very helpful.
