Automobile title question.
I just got a vehicle registration renewal notice for a car we traded in last July. I'm 100% certain we gave them the title when we made the deal, so I'm wondering why this vehicle is still in our name.
I'd hate for the car to be involved in an accident or stolen or used to commit a crime with the state of Texas thinking we're still the owners. Does anyone know what my next steps should be? Should I just call the dealership and ask them about it?
Re: Automobile title question.
there's a form you have to fill out and file for title transfer when you sign it over/sell it or your fears could come true....

We sold a car and the guy kept running red lights with it! We were able to use the above form and a copy of the bill of sale to get it our of name. Funny, the guy we sold it to is a police officer..
