The waiting game is almost over!

I just got an email that we're in the very last step of our short sale home buying process and will most likely be closed by 2/28 (we'll know for sure by Friday)!  I'm freaking out -- the waiting game has not been a problem but now that it's this close, I can't wait any longer!  Any tips on how to be patient?  Wink

Re: The waiting game is almost over!

  • Let's try this again!  My daughter was at the house tonight, checked her Bump stuff, and did not sign out.  I didn't even notice it wasn't me!  Here's what I said...

Candy? Liquor? I'm the wrong person to ask. I am the most impatient person on the planet! Good luck! We are very excited for you....

My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
  • YAY!!

There is no patience in this (and we did a regular sale). I poured through home decorating blogs, starting drawing up floor plans of how I wanted furniture, made shopping lists, and started picking up paint chips, lol.

  • Daydream often!  I had a fast closing and it was tense leading up to it so I can't imagine how you feel!  I agree, stalk decorating blogs, dream of paint colors, mentally arrange furniture, make a list of all the first home purchases you'll need (garden hose, shovel, rake, lawn mower, hedge clippers, etc.).  Think about what your new door locks will look like because you should change those right away...

And do it all over a glass of wine! :)  Good luck and happy planning!

  • Crossing my fingers for a smooth and swift close!

With regard to patience: do everything Juangela suggests to keep your mind occupied.  I have no patience as I was ready to walk when my non-short sale closing kept getting bumped; you will do much better.

    Matt loves Munkii!!!
  • I'm so excited for you! Thinking back to our Short Sale still makes me queasy! Pick out a nice bottle of Champagne to pop, and maybe a new key ring for your house key!
  • Thanks gals.  I'm okay during down time because I can work on going through things in our house so it'll make packing easier and when I'm at any of my performance related jobs, I'm okay.  My desk job is suffering though -- it's taking ALL of my self control not to look at home decorating ideas and daydream ALL DAY LONG.  Yikes!
