anyone used Dr. Jill Nelson- pedi derma?
i'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with her. we were referred to her by our regular pedi. my dd needs to have a minor surgery with this doc, and was wondering what others experiences with her have been? i wasn't quite sold on her bedside manor- she makes me a little nervous...
Mommy to Presley 5/27/09,
It's a GIRL!!
Re: anyone used Dr. Jill Nelson- pedi derma?
I have used her too. Agree with CoriA Dr. Nelson is all business but she treated an issue i had very quickly, and i'd been to several other derms before that with no results. Nelson was patient, confident and no nonsense and I have been back to her for other minor stuff a couple times. all good results. No knowledge of how she is with kids, though.
Someone else posted here recently about having extremely dry hands and i wanted to tell her to go see Dr. Nelson. I'm sure she could help. wish i could find that old post...
She treated my older daughter's ulcerated hemangioma when she was just a couple of months old. I agree that she seems a little "cold" but that didn't bother me at all because I tend to be "all business" like that too... and she knew exactly what to do to fix the problem. I would see her again for any derm issue, in a heartbeat.
A good friend of mine was an admin at the hospital where she did her residency, and had nothing but glowing things to say about her.
One of my best friends is one of her partners & has only very positive things to say about her. I have never met her.
Agreed with others - good beside manner = important, but as long as they are polite & not overtly unfriendly I don't care too much how warm & fuzzy someone is. Some people do really want that, which is totally fine of course but sounds like perhaps not what you would be getting with her.
Good luck with your little one.
