have you a foolproof lasagna recipe?

My husband loves lasagna and I would like to try to make it for his birthday this weekend -- but I've never done it before (read: lasagna virgin!) and am afraid it will be a watery mess.

Any recipes or advice?

Thanks :)

  • Nana's Lasagna

You can see one of the pictures looks watery, but believe me, it's still delicious.  You could always make it a day ahead and refrigerate if you want it more "solid".

    Looks fabulous --

What kind of pan/baking dish do you use? We may have some people here and I don't have a ceramic dish large enough to make enough food for a bunch of people -- are aluminum pans sacrilegious? I have a large roasting pan (like, for a giant turkey) but it is non-stick -- would that do?

And, how many lasagna sheets usually come in a box? Any brand recommendations?

haha, love your thank yous :)

aluminum is fine.  so is a large roasting pan.  anything will work - just put a little sauce on the bottom of the pan (hence the bit of runnyness, which like I said doesn't take away from the taste!)
