February is my month to plan a Ladies' Night for a few girlfriends of mine. The past few months we have just gone out to eat, but I thought it would be fun to do something more involved -- I'm thinking something like a bead-making class, or a book binding class, etc. Something that is just one class for a couple hours in the evening, but you learn a new skill and get to walk away with something you made.
I'm having a hard time figuring out what to search for online. I don't think going through a local college is the best idea because it would involve everyone having to register with the college, etc. I'm thinking more along the lines of a local art shop (scrapbooking store, bead store, art gallery, etc.) that does classes. I'm thinking each person would probably be ok with spending $20-40 on the class.
Does anyone know of such a place that offers these types of classes? Pretty much anywhere in the Metro Detroit area is fair game because we are spread out all over. Something in the "middle" would be ideal (just not too far away -- not Flint or Lansing or anything like that).
TIA!
Re: Need Ideas for Ladies Night - art/craft classes?
I'm no help on finding a class, but if it was me, I'd pick a Pinterest craft and tell everyone to bring a bottle of wine, appetizer, or dessert to share. Wine and crafting could make for a fun night!
The Bee's Knees (Pottery) in Downtown Northville does Ladies Night classes...

I would search for bead stores or something like that in whatever areas you're interested in. We used to have a bead store nearby (in NY) that my SILs and I went to for 'sisters day'. It was fun, but not a ton.
We also did a paint your own pottery thing and that was a LOT of fun. It was relaxing and it's great if they let you bring some wine and snacks. Some places I've gone have provided it too.
I think we should do the Bee's Knees sometime for a GTG!!!

Losing it...Without Losing it
I don't know of any classes, but you could go to one of those places where you paint pottery or something like that. I did that with a few girlfriends one day and it was a blast! I am still rocking my green cookie jar on the counter in my kitchen
Hopefully the others have been more help than I have!
