smell down there

This might be a silly question, but as you get older do you develop more of a smell?  I am 28 now, and for the past year or so I have noticed I smell different.  Even my FI has noticed.  I mean, it isn't horrific or anything, but it is just a lot stronger smelling than it has been before.  I remember being in my young 20's and never having an issue.  We can joke and laugh about it which is nice, but I just don't understand what made it change.

Re: smell down there

  • To my knowledge, no.

maybe it's certain medications, if that's applicable -- if you're not comfortable about it, perhaps get a doc to check it out.

  • I am not on anything.  I have been treated for BV on a few occasions, I know that comes with a smell.  But I don't think that is the case currently.
  • No.  I am 44 and I have not experienced any change.

Go to the ob-gyn and have her run some tests.  You may have a low-level something that can be cleared up quickly.

  • Thanks for the replies.  I need to go to the gyno soon anyways to figure out birth control.  I was on the pill for a while but the doctors thought it might be the cause of my painful sex, so they took me off of it.  I am considering trying something different.  I will definitely mention the smell when I go in.
  • No, I definitely havent experienced this.
  • Do you drink more coffee or eat different foods than you used to?  I agree with others that you should double check with the doc that you don't have a minor case of BV coming back to haunt you (I too have suffered through a few bouts of that), but I know coffee and some different types of food can change the way things down there taste.  Maybe it can also affect how it smells, but that's just a guess.

  • I actually do not ever drink coffee.  My diet is pretty healthy.  I am going to make an appointment to go in soon, just to make sure the BV didn't come back.

I do sweat a little more maybe, since now I do kettlebells.. I mean of course I shower right after each workout.  I also waitress for 9 hour shifts and I get hot doing it at times.
