A friend of a friend found a puppy in a target parking lot 2 nights ago. It was running in and out of the traffic in the lot, not wearing a collar and was very scared. She brought it to my friend's house to see if she wanted the pup. My friend has been searching for a puppy, but was kind of waiting till spring to get one.
My friend decided to keep the puppy! YAY! but she pretty much knows NOTHING about having indoor dogs, let alone a puppy, bc she lived on a farm her whole life growing up, and they only had outside dogs.
So she called me and said " I have a puppy, and I need your help because you're the ONLY person I trust with puppy advice!"
I thought that was sooo nice of her.
She came over yesterday to pick up a crate that we don't use anymore and I got to meet the puppy. Her name is Isabelle. She looks like a black lab/possibly boxer/possibly beagle mix with maybe some pit.
Basically she is black with brown undertones and big floppy ears.
Super cute, and i was so distracted by her adorableness that I didn't take a picture. But i will next time so you guys can see her!
ALSO... i got a text this morning that she has worms. so my friend will be taking her to the vet today to get some dewormer and get her checked out.
Re: I received a very nice compliment yesterday!
Yay for your friend keeping the stray puppy!! That's so awesome of her!
Just to be on the safe side, I might put out fliers and such, though. You never know if she slipped away from her owners and they're out there searching for her. Long-shot, seeing as she's wormy and all, but you never know!
I'm glad also that she knows where to go for puppy advice.
Good for her to get help and do the right thing.

Aww, big floppy ears are the best!
My mom called me one of those "modern" pet owners the other day because I won't chain our dogs outside in our FENCED yard when we're gone at work etc. I'm not sure if this was a complement or not...
Growing up we didn't have inside pets either. we had an outdoor/garage cat that lived 16 years and an outdoor dog that lived 12 years. We live in the country, and this was normal there.
But after having an inside pet... wow... we are SO MUCH closer with our pets.
my parents at first even said "we aren't an indoor pet family, so you can't bring your dogs here and have them stay inside." TAHNKFULLY after i brought them down to visit once even though they said not to, they changed their minds and now LOVE AND ADORE having our pets inside with the family! lol
