Re: Since it's slow and I'm new...

  • Do you work? If so, what do you do?

    Last book you read?

If you could have any animal (in the world) legally, what would it be?

Favorite food to eat, even though you know you shouldn't?

I work full time (I'm working from home today!).  I am a research psychologist.

    Last book you read?

The Hunger Games Trilogy. I have the New Ann Patchett book "State of Wonder" waiting on my Kindle.

If you could have any animal (in the world) legally, what would it be?

Probably a panda - although I do understand it probably wouldn't just cuddle with me on the couch as I imagine it would!

Favorite food to eat, even though you know you shouldn't?

Mac & Cheese.  I LOVE Mac & Cheese.

  • We can pretend that the panda would cuddle you.

How do you like working from home? Do you find that it's easier or harder to focus?

    How old are you?

    Where are you from?

My job is pretty flexible -- so I work from home about once per week.  I wouldn't want to do it more often than that -- I start to get cabin fever.  On the days I work from home, it's usually easy to focus.  But I pick tasks that I know I will be able to focus on at home (today I am doing a literature search / reading journal articles).

    How old are you?

    33 - which seems impossible!

    Where are you from?

    Minneapolis

  • Minneapolis! So you have to suffer through the cold like I do!

I'm from Michigan, but we don't have any snow at the moment - it's been a strange winter. Do you have snow? Do you like the snow/cold?

It has been a really strange winter here as well.  It has been warm (for MN in the winter) and there hasn't been much snow.  It has finally felt like winter over the past 2 weeks.  It has been cold and we have gotten a couple of inches of snow.  But still nothing too serious.  My dogs have been bummed -- they both LOVE the cold and snow.

I do like the snow/cold -- I can't imagine not having seasons.  But, the length and intensity of winter in MN is a bit much for me.  I went to grad school in NJ and I liked their winters.  It still got cold and you had snow, but it wasn't SO cold and winter was much shorter. I start to go crazy here in March when it is still full-fledged winter.

I agree 100%. Seasons are awesome - but I could deal with out the 6 to 7 months of cold and ick. I love snow - I just hate the cold. And driving in snow, I always get behind the idiot who doesn't know what they're doing :)

Sounds like we've had some of the same weather. Past 2 weeks have been cold/windy/some snow. Then Monday it was almost 50. Every time we get snow it melts in a week. (Which is good for driving! )

  • Do you work? If so, what do you do?  I work in Student Affairs at a community college

Last book you read? I'm reading some book about dogs and cats that servicemen and women adopt in Iraq and Afghanistan being flown back to the U.S. Can't think of the name at the moment.

If you could have any animal (in the world) legally, what would it be? Just dogs.  I'm boring, I guess.

Favorite food to eat, even though you know you shouldn't? So many things...cake with lots of frosting, brie and other fatty cheeses, bowls and bowls of pasta.  Can you tell I'm dieting?  lol

ETA:  Bahaha...reading comprehension fail.  I decided to take over your thread by answering questions that were supposed to be for you.  Sorry bout that...lol  This has been a long week!

it has been a long week! I don't blame you!

And I also love cheese! I work in a restaurant and we JUST got in a bunch of cheese samples from an Amish Cheese place and it's AMAZING.
