So we have to move DS2 from daycare because he has had some stomach issues that have caused a bit of a set back in potty training. This is going to be a temporary move because as soon as we get this under control he will go back. Probably by June 1.
So here are our choices:
Preschool 1 is very close to the house. This means DH would help with the pick up and drop off. They said we could either put him in the 2 to 3 yr old room or the 3 to 4 yr old room. He is 3 in April. If we put him in the 3 to 4 yr old room and we find it is not a good fit they will move him. My concerns with the 2-3 yr old room. It is a very, very young room. He is pretty advanced for his age. Also, the playground area for this age group is really a joke. It is a plastic play house and it is on astroturf. My concern with the 3-4 yr old room is his maturity. If it does not work he will be in the other room and yet another transition.
Preschool 2 is very similar to where he is now. I have experience with this preschool as DD went there. Location not as convenient, but not terribly out of the way either.
So what do you think? Is the playground as big of a deal as I think it is? Since we know it is temporarily should I let convenience be my deciding factor?
Re: WWND?
My non-mom thoughts:
Do you think he'll adapt better to the older kids or younger kids? Is he the type to want to do things because the "big kids" are doing it? Or is he the type that will want to "teach" the younger kids how to do things? My (limited) experience with that age is that they want to do what the "big kids" are doing more than they want to boss around the "little kids"
It sounds like you'd rather do preschool 1, but just aren't sure where to place him.
Bazinga!
