Interview (sort of) this morning

So, a little vent...  I went to the sub teacher interview "event" this morning for Adams County District 12 and it was a cattle call!  There were so many people there, I couldn't believe it!  Further more, many of them were wearing JEANS!!!  What in the heck?  Now, after having completed the 10 minute "interview" during which I was informed that they have a very large pool of people more qualified than I (my Master's is in Counseling so I'm not qualified to be a classroom sub for more than 5 consecutive days in the same classroom, basically), so I'll be lucky to get called twice a week, I'm not feeling super excited about it.

On the bright side, I applied for a couple other promising jobs so we'll see about those...

Re: Interview (sort of) this morning

  • Ugh, I never had much luck at job fairs either, even with my teaching license. I did, however, have a good mini-interview/chat with one principal and when I applied for a job at his school a few months later, I referenced the job fair conversation. He actually remembered (or had written notes at the job fair) and called me for an interview. I had already accepted a job so I didn't go, but it was a good contact!

Thanks.  I'm hoping it's a foot in the door!
