I can't believe it! I can't believe he ACTUALLY found a Salma Hayek look a like who is shorter than him (he's only 5'4"), who paints her nails blue for him and is into sports!HA!
I'm not jealous at all. Not one iota. In fact, I remember the moment I knew it was "over" was when he bitched to me that I didn't "try to look hot for him" (aka have my nails constantly manicured and painted electric blue and wear skimpy clothing). I told him there are plenty of guidettes in Queens who dress like whores, and who regularly get manicures done. Besides, it doesn't pay for me to get my nails done as I'm always getting paint on my nails when I do my artwork.
(Not knocking women who get their nails done, that's all fine and good. It's incredible that all the things he wanted: a short, submissive, woman with blue nails appears out of the woodwork). Good for him. He better not let this one get away. God bless her for keeping her nails blue and wearing mini skirts all the time. lol.

I'm 29, and I work as a graphic designer. But I do my own art and have gallery shows as well. Currently I'm illustrating 2 children's books. I'm happily married to an amazing guy. We live in NYC and I grew up here, been here my whole life.
I'm here on the nest because you guys are very entertaining and sometimes i need advice on stuff, like friend or family issues. It's kind of mean but I feel like I experience a bit of schadenfreue when I look at my ex's page. He was supposed to be this Rock and Roll Superstar (back in high school/college). Now he's just a working stiff like everybody else who still lives with his parents. Lame. Glad that didn't work out.

I have totally searched for some of the ex bfs on FB. I'm shallow and I like seeing that my old HS boyfriend, the one that was drop dead gorgeous, and cheated on me several times, is now overweight and balding. What? Not everybody does this?

One more thing...as a "newbie" on the nest, I am slightly confused. Many of you seem like you know each other personally, in real life. Is that because you all started on the knot together and then migrated over to the nest at the same time?
Doesn't that make it weird to post about whatever you want on here? If you know each other personally? I mean, I kind of like the fact that I'm mostly anonymous on here, and can post stupid stuff (like this original post) without being judged by people who actually know me in real life.

It makes it harder to be thunderdome like we used to be, but it has not affected what I post.

I've been on theknotnest so long I don't remember not being on it. 2005? So, eventually whomever sticks you know stuff about or eventually meet. Why not. I talk to the people online more than I talk to people I actually know in real daily life.
I tell people here more stuff about my personal life than my close RL friends. It still feels safer. Not anonymous, but I had already shared gory details before I met them, so why stop now.
