Dermatologist North Jersey?

Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in North Jersey?

I am so far looking at one in Rockaway and one in Morristown.

Especially if anyone knows these docs:

 Dr Massas

Michael Bilkis, M.D.
Susan Ellis, M.D.
Daniel S. Groisser, M.D.
Humza Ilyas, M.D.

Thanks!

Re: Dermatologist North Jersey?

  • Stay far, far away from Dr. Groisser. I went to him at the Paramus location and not only did i sit in the waiting room for over an hour (and than an additional half-hour in the actual room just waiting for him) for my 7am appointment (how backed up can one doctor be at 7am???), but he spent all of 30 seconds with me and completely misdiagnosed me. I went back for a follow-up (and another 1.5 hour wait!), and he told me I needed laser surgery to correct the problem. I went to the laser surgeon who told me that wasn't what I needed at all (thank god!) as it would ruin my face. I went to another derm who knew immediately I had rosacea, which is what I suspected all along. No surgery necessary.

The derm I go to is located in Kinnelon. Dr. Carolyn Schwartz. She also works every other Sunday, which is awesome!

  • Wow thanks for that info. Kinnelon isn't far from me either I will look into that too.

    Thanks again.

  • is the first one dr. joseph masessa?? Stay away from him!! he made me go 2  times for a simple body check ( one for the "upper body" and one for the "lower body". i'm guessing so he can charge insurance for 2 visits) THEN his secretary called and told me one they took off was "precancerous" and they wanted to do surgery. i went in to supposedly talk to him about the surgery.... his nurses were doing my "lower body check", and he walked in WHILE they were taking something off of me and basically juse said "hi, i'll see you at the surgery. gave me NO chance to ask him questions or anything.

I ended up going to Dermatology Associates of Morris in Parsippany, they are GREAT! theres a few doctors, so you can always get an appointment... and just very nice to deal with. I've met with Dr. Shah and Dr. Livingston, who were both great.

  • Yes, thats the one. Thanks for the info!
