Working mom/evening playgroup

Hey ladies.  I think the evening playgroup was mentioned in a post recently.  I did create a FB page for those that wanted to meet during the week nights and weekends but honestly, there wasn't much discussion or desire for folks to get together very often and it seemed like finding a common side of town to meet was difficult.  some of us are on the west side, ankeny, johnston, etc. and after work it didn't seem like folks wanted to drive to the other side of town, etc. and working around dinner schedules was also challening. 

if there is an interest i'd be happy to try and coordinate a group again or someone else can... i love having week night and weekend playdates and am always interested in meeting new friends but i just don't want to try and coordinate things and there be no interest.

for those that are new - there is a stay at home (day group) that meets and then i tried to start a working mom (evening) group that meets.  a lot of people "joined" the group but there wasn't any activity or apparent interest in actually getting together. 

thats not to say that we haven't gotten together for both play groups and ladies night it just seemed to fizzle out or the group lost interest or was too busy/conflicting schedules.

Hey Shea - what sort of things did you guys get together to do on nights/weekends in the previous group?  I recently brought this up on the SAHM fb page. 

My weekends with DH/DS are pretty precious to me so I'm not sure how often I'd really be available to join in... but what if we just planned once a month outings?  Or even once every other month?  We could get a sense of general interest for a date and plan accordingly whether it be a park, zoo, etc.

It might be easier and more effective than creating a page for it.  Just my two cents

I like the idea of a planned monthly outings.  Depending on the season we'd go to parks, malls, pools, zoo, etc.  I realized that the FB group actually still exists so maybe I'll send a message to folks and see who is interested... some of the ppl on the fb page are not on this board.  The problem with planned outings is the conflicting schedules but we can surely try it.
