Suck!!!

I came home to meet our handyman. He had installed a new water line to our fridge and a new kitchen faucet a few months ago. Suddenly this week we lost water pressure in the sink and the water stopped coming through the fridge. So I thought maybe there was a leak in the line. Well, he just filled a glass from under the sink. Tons of water pressure, but the water is dark dark brown with rocks in it. This is going to suck. Hold me.

Re: Suck!!!

  • Might I suggest drinking bottled water for awhile.

  • Ha! Well it's filtered and I read that it's probably rusty pipes which is not a health threat but ewww. Yeah. I have some heebs. Thankfully this is only our kitchen so hopefully the rest of our pipes are ok and it's not some heavy duty job.
  • We have this same problem in Vermont.  We had to redo the bathroom, because the plumbing was outside the wall.  We now have a really really nice shower, but our water pressure is down to nothing.  The guy came and cleaned rocks out of the line once, which helped for a few days, but we are down to a trickle.

Please let me know what the solution is, because I'm worried about the fix, too.

  • See, the rock we had, we figured got in there when the new pipes were installed.  They run through a natural rock crawl-space from the basement into the bathroom.  I think the whole pipes might need to be removed, cleaned out, and replaced.
  • Time to move.

  • Lol Cali. Ok. So he said the rock was rust bits. I mean it wasn't huge chunks but still. Anyway he flushed the line and it's ok for now. But there is a chance that we could get a leak so we have to decide if we want to replace the pipes. At least I have non gross water right now.
