Good grief. I'm glad I'm working out at home because I am so red in the face, it's embarrassing. Day 1 of 30DS didn't go so well. I got to the point of wheezing and couldn't finish some of the exercises. This whole weight loss thing has been so frustrating. I haven't lost anything despite sticking to my calories. I walk 5000 steps around campus twice a week and 10,000 at work twice a week. I did a Yoga Burn dvd twice last week too. I must have the metabolism of a turtle. I wish I was as patient with myself as I am with the people I take care of.
Re: I am so out of shape.
I know it sucks but it takes time to see a difference. The good news is that if you lose weight slowly maybe you're the type that gains it slowly too which means it will be easier to control your goal weight once you get there.
Is there a gym in your apartment complex? If so, you should try cardio intervals and some weightlifting so that you can increase your metabolism.
I totally understand! I get SO red faced, that people actually will ask if I am ok. So I workout at home too. lol. And, I've been doing Jillian M's power yoga, walking/inclined on the treadmill, and doing the Biggest Loser's bootcamp and last chance workouts.
It's been months...and I still have to pause it ALOT to catch my breath. And even more frustrating, I get winded walking up our stairs at home. I went on a leisurely hike with a friend that smokes and I was winded....while she was 10 steps ahead of me with a cigarette in her hand laughing at me. Not fair. So....you're not alone and I bet you could kick my butt in a workout!
I saw this post and thought of you. I might run your calorie count/workout info past the H&F girs.
