Should I have gotten my W2 from work already?

I got one from my current job but not my old job. Is there a deadline when you have to receive it?

  • Employers need to mail it by January 31

  • LOL...someone at work asked when they would get there's. I told them I hoped to have them out on Friday. And then I said, "I take that back, the latest you'll have it is Tuesday...cause that's when you legally have to have it." Haha, why not give myself a little cushion, right?

And if your wondering what the hold up is.....Payroll processing company's tend to spit those mother's out before you've had a chance to get any 3rd party info into them....so then you have to provide it and they have to re-run them and then we (payroll) have to double check them. Cause as any payroll processor can tell you....payroll companies stink, lol.

Or you can be like my old company and wait until the employee notices the 3rd party sick pay is missing to do anything about it. Sigh
