do you pay a registration fee every year for daycare?

We just got notice for the summer program and registration fee for 2012/2013. I don't know why for some reason I thought you only had to pay a registration fee once when you initially enrolled, more so since he's still "daycare" and not in the actual Pre-school classes yet. But I guess you have to pay it every year. Is this common? It makes sense, I'm just curious. I'm new to this since Vincent just started daycare in March 2011. 

We got off lucky last year too b/c Vincent was under 2 so the summer program was free, this year it's $130. I don't mind b/c they bring in cool stuff and I think he will enjoy it.

Yeah, I think it as $50? I have to pay a program every year now for the before- and after- care program he's in through the Y, I think it's $70 for the year.

Are you a TLE family?  We received our paperwork on Monday and it is due on 3/13.  We have paid a registration fee each year and a summer fee last year (her birthday is in August) and will this year.

We pay a $50 registration fee every September (for each kid) and a learning material fee then too (and in January) for Stephanie (that fee is for the Pre-K classes).  There were a few occasional times where they did open houses and waived the reg. fee and if they did that they allowed parents who were keeping their kids there to waive the fee as well. (they have not done that in awhile though)

Yup. We got ours on Monday too. I THINK it said our registration fee is due by April 30th and our summer program fee is due by March 30th. I could be mixing those up, I'm not sure, b/c I figured I'll just pay them both at the same time before March 30th.

There is one reg fee for the school year and another for the summer session. I think both are $50 for 1 kid, $75 for 2.

There was one daycare we used that had an annual registration fee. That ticked me off...it wasn't like they were leaving for the summer and then coming back.

There is no registration fee at the preschool they are all at now. There is, however, a deposit (to hold your spot) every year.

For my school, it is only for the summer program. It pays for the extras they bring in during the summer (bounce house, summer BBQ, etc.)
