Help me with an Italian presentation to kids.
I was asked to come in & speak to Sabrina's class about Italy. They are doing different countries of the world. They kicked it off with China & Chinese New Year. One of the girls mom's came in and spoke. They each got a little red bag w/ a wind up dragon toy in it, a fortune cookie and then they did a dragon craft.
I need ideas on:
1. Craft
2. Food Item
3. Little Gift
There are 8 kids in her class.
Re: Help me with an Italian presentation to kids.
You could do something with the flag or make the shape of Italy/map and explain it looks like a boot so that thye could recognize it on a map...
Explain about pasta and how it's important in Italy and have them make necklaces or something out of pasta noodles
Not sure how Italian it is, but Italian ice to eat?
For the take home, how about red, white and green PlayDoh...you could make it yourself at home easily since I'm sure you're not going to find little containers of that unless it's Christmastime...and explain that at home they could use it to make the flag or something?
I like the macaroni necklace idea for a craft.
Pizelles might be a good food item.
I love the macaroni necklace craft as well!
I found some worksheets online - the days of the week and the numbers 1-10 .. they are cute and can be colored
I have a list of phrases we can learn
Pizzelles is a good idea - I think my mom has a maker, I'd need to clear it with the teacher. I also thought about Cannolis too...I can make the cream and then they can stuff them.
