Car service vs cab question

Hi.  Sorry for the travel WWYD, but I can't decide.

If you were landing at LGA on a Friday morning at 11:00 and were going to Manhattan (66 Park Ave at 38th St) would you take a can or a service like DIal 7?

Obviously cab fare varies. Dial 7 is $25 plus tolls/tip. Pros and cons to both, which is why I can't decide.

TIA!

Re: Car service vs cab question

  • I think cabs have a flat rate into Manhattan as well, but I'm not 100% sure. I would  just take the cab because it's easy to walk outside the terminal and jump in the cab line.

  • Cabs only have a flat rate from JFK and we will be coming from LGA. I'm guessing that traffic will not be as bad at 11 am as it will be later in the day, but I suppose it's a gamble.

I was thinking that a car service is good because you aren't meter watching. But, you also have to wait for and locate the car after you call and get the number of the car, etc.  If the line isn't too long at the taxi stand, that's easier in that dept.

  • i'd take a yellow cab for sure.  traffic won't be that bad at lunch time...by the time you land, de-plane, and collect your luggage, it'll be closer to noon.
