Please Touch Museum...Phili

We're headed there tomorrow with just my 3 year old. Mom is taking my 16th month old cause I don't think she'd cooperate longer than 30 mins w/out a meltdown for a nap.

Anyway,,,tips? They have lunch there? Do they check bags? Maybe I'll bring outside food then. Thanks!

Re: Please Touch Museum...Phili

  • I don't remember if they checked bags. We bought lunch there.

My tip: Bring a complete change of clothes for her. M LOVED the water play area but he was soaked from head to foot despite wearing an apron. Thankfully I had a change of clothes for him because it is cold out.

Ditto this. we saved it for last and he was soaked. Vincent LOVED this place. have fun! We didnt do lunch there just bought a snack

  • We bought food there and it was pretty decent--pasta bar, paninis, salads, and small snacks for the kids. I do recall seeing people eating food they brought with them.

    Have fun!!

  • I'd try as close to opening as possible, as it does fill up quickly. Plus, field trips!
You can bring in your own food. There are lots of tables set up throughout the main entrance hall & the dining area and into the room w/the carosel . There is a restaurant with standard kid fare too.

I agree w/the change of clothes, as the water area can be quite messy. We usually do the carosel as our last event before leaving. It's a fun place!

  • we were there last friday- we got there about 11:30- although there was a good amt of people I did not feel like it was packed at all.  the food was expensive and I didnt know i could bring a packed lunch or i would have.  the pizza was like 2.79 a slice - (not bad) but they had a cheese sandwich- i think was $4 - small juice box was 1.29.   We just feed my DD a slice of pizza.  It was really cute and my DD did not want to leave- have a great time --  hit up Pats for a cheese steak afterwards !!!
  • there were two schools there and it seems that they were ready for lunch when we got there and then  they left ....

  • No bag checks! There is a cafe but you are allowed to bring outside food so feel free to pack a lunch!
