clueless about blowdrying kids' hair before bed...
i've only heard of this on the nest (but then again I never thought to ask IRL friends), but what is bad about letting kids go to sleep w/ wet hair? the only reason i can think of is that it dries weird if slept on while wet? does it cause colds or something? please fill me in, i'm clueless

Bella goes to bed with wet hair every night and she's doing just fine
I've never once put a blow dryer to her head.

I've never blow dried Scarlett's hair. I think she would HATE the feel of a hair dryer on her head/face and I'm not sure it would actually be good for her.
She goes to bed with wet hair the nights she has baths, which in the witner is every other night to try and keep her dry skin from getting worse. I am considering doing her baths earlier, if possible, so that she can go to bed with dry hair, b/c she has curly hair and everything I read about taking care of curly hair says that one way to reduce friziness is to let hair air dry. I think her wet hair rubbing on her mattress at night is leading to a frizz problem, so I guess my reason for changing our routine to try and send her to bed with dry hair is vanity

i don't dry her hair completly i don't have the time for that. but its so wet after she gets out of the shower she hates to get her pillow wet lol
but yes she's totally normal. i go to bed with a wet head sometimes too
my husband dries Ava's hair after her showers because he is convinced you can't go to bed with a wet head or you will be cold or get a cold - i can't remember which.
either way, i go to bed with a wet head unless i blow dry my hair straight - and it's wavy more often than straight. so, he's been sleeping next to a wet head for years and i don't complain of being cokd and it's not the source of colds for me. lol!
no you do not get sick from going to bed with wet hair OR going out in the winter with wet hair. You get sick from virus and bacteria...yes, my mother tried to make a point during a dr visit with my sister when she was in high school. The dr ended up setting my mother straight....
I hate going to bed with a wet head, but her hair takes so long to blow dry so I usually let it air dry a bit, then I put it in a french braid or a bun because it's long and curly (and will end up looking like a rat's nest in the morning if I leave it loose). In the morning it's usually still a little damp, but it dries fast once it's unwrapped.
I personally do not like the feeling of wet hair at bedtime, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She sweats at night, so no matter if she goes to bed with wet hair (3 nights a week) or dry hair (4 nights a week) it looks CRAZY in the morning.
I do blow dry her hair in the morning, spritz with a bottle and straighten out the rat's nest. She brushes her teeth and I dry her hair, just part of the routine.
