Getting close and I just wonder the shelf life

I know it's supposed to be effective for 5 years, but how close would you actually get to that mark?

My understanding of that sort of thing is that they test it for much longer than 5 years, but 5 years is the point at which it may start to lose effectiveness, and they can't guarantee it much past 5 years. I'd push it to maybe a month after or so, probably. I could be wrong, of course, but that's my take on the whole thing.

I went 2 months past the 5 yrs. BUT I haven't had sex in over 2 yrs, so wasn't using it for birth control purposes, so I'm not really any help to you. :-)

 I wouldn't want to push the 5 yr mark too far.....

I took mine out 4 years before the expiration date, so I can't help, I just thought this was a funny post title.

I'm not sure, but I'm in the same boat. Dec marks five years, I have a physical in Nov. gonna make sure that comes up when I meet with my doc.

I still have a little under 2 years left on mine.  The only reason I know that is because I got it at 10 weeks post partum.
