Do you or will you work from home after baby?

Does anyone work from home? I would love to find a legit job working from home once the baby is born. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

I have no idea why this post is underlined...sorry

Re: Do you or will you work from home after baby?

  • I work part-time from home for my previous employer. I orginally "quit" when I told her I was pregnant but then some things changed in the office and she approached me to work from home. I started after 8 weeks. It is a unique situation that I am very grateful for.

But working PT from home is tough--I have very little "free" time. I work when DS naps and at night if there is something pressing. GL with whatever you end up doing.

  • My company allows flexible work arrangements.  If you're looking for jobs it's something I would ask up front.  I don't work from home 100% of the time, but love being able to do it when I want to :)   Good luck!
  • have you looked into medical billing?

  • I just started looking very recently.  I'm trying to avoid putting LO into daycare and having to return to my full time job.  I was hoping I could get some ideas from local NJ moms.
  • My old job was primarily work at home. I worked for Bristol Myers Squibb. It did not start out as work from home but eventually became that. One of the rules to work from home was that you had to have child care.

Good for you I am rarely allowed to work from home there :-) so annoying I did it today though!

It really varies by department there. Even the few that are left from my old group aren't allowed any more. They have a new senior director that doesn't support it.

  • I transitioned to WFM after returning from maternity leave. I have been at the same company for 10 years, though & our whole operation really has moved to a remote setup, so it made sense. I produce & edit software training.

Because my work is project based, my work load varies. I have a DCP come to the house one day a week & my MIL watches him the other days, as needed.

    GL!

  • After I had my second child it didn't make sense for me to go back to work with my salary & daycare costs pretty much wiping out my take home pay.  I decided to start a direct selling business that I do from home with my kids.  I still bartend a few nights a month and am still looking for a full time job that would yeild more money, but for now it works and I make money doing it.
